Angela Amarillas
Angela Amarillas is committed to the development of happy, healthy, high-achieving humans in thriving communities. After spending many years advising the California Department of Education on best practices in health education and school climate, she is back at her alma mater, Stanford University, to engage students in healthy habits to be confident, comfortable, and capable to flourish in the often-overlooked area of financial well-being. The first person to minor in dance at Stanford, Angela teaches and performs historical and vernacular social couple dance across the United States, and in Europe, most notably at the Smithsonian Institution, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Lincoln Center, Google Headquarters, Academia Nazionale di Danza in Rome, Arts et Mouvement de Paris, and Dvorana in Prague. Angela served as the founding board chair of the San Francisco chapter of Young Women Social Entrepreneurs, an organization that promotes women’s leadership by providing training, development, community, and opportunities. She also was the founding board chair for dawsondancesf, a ballet company directed by Gregory Dawson that brings to light the strength and beauty that artists possess within themselves, allowing them to explore their voices through choreography and vision. She is grateful to have been on the Black Label Movement board since its inception and is inspired to continue supporting this community of movers and changemakers into the future.
