Ana Morel
Ana Morel, CLMA, is a Certified Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analyst, Somatic Movement Therapist, project manager, and former modern dancer and choreographer. Ana holds Bachelor of Art degrees in Dance and Comparative Literature from Hamilton College and a graduate certification in Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analysis from the Integrated Movement Studies program at the University of Utah. She is also certifed by the Kozai Group as an Intercultural Effectiveness Scale administrator and coach, by Portland State University as a project manager, and by Art of Hosting as a facilitator. From 1989 to 2009, Ana danced with various companies, including Disc Dance Theatre, Vox Medusa Dance Company, and Hauser Dance Company. She also performed as a solo artist in small venues all over the US. To support her dance habit, Ana brings what she learned in the dance studio to the business world. As an independent project manager, trainer, and facilitator, Ana has helped corporate professionals and teams move concept into action, helped individuals find their best ways of working, and helped teams find ways to move forward in unison. Her clientele ranged from Fortune 500 companies to small, nonprofit arts organizations. As of 2021, Ana is the Executive Assistant at The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, where she helps usher the work of the Board. Born of Dominican immigrants, Ana was raised bilingual and studied graduate-level Spanish in Madrid. Steeped in the cultures of North America and the Dominican Republic, and having lived there, all over the US, and briefly in Madrid, Ana naturally brings a multicultural perspective to all she does. In 2016, after many adventures, Ana and her husband, Robert van Vliet, returned home to the Twin Cities, where they are happiest.
